BIOGRAPHY
ā
Elena Khaw is an aerialist and contortionist who is currently based on the sunny Gold Coast, Australia.
ā
Elena's journey in the circus world began 12 years ago whilst she was at university studying for her Biomedical degree.
She enrolled herself as a student at Viva Vertical- the leading pole and aerial school in Malaysia.
ā
Elena juggled both her studies and new found passion as she dedicated more and more time to this art.
This lead her to the world of performance after she was offered a place as part of Viva Vertical (also known as Viva Circus) performer's database.
Elena's life hasn't been the same since, she could be seen performing in mid-air and bending on the ground at various corporate events and theatres through the week.
ā
Though she is a versatile performer and competent on most aerial equipment, it didn't take her long to fall in love with the lyra and cube. She now specialises on these apparatus along side contortion as her second discipline.
ā
The world of circus has helped Elena travel around the world to teach and perform.
She has travelled to countries such Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Dubai and all around Malaysia for circus.
ā
Apart from performing, Elena also found joy in teaching.
One of the greatest reward is being able to walk along side her students and watch them grow.
Her students come from different backgrounds seeking to go under her training to obtain certain goals from contortion, aerial conditioning, calisthenics, yoga, inversions, mobility work, flexibility and balancing.
ā
The pool of students she is blessed to meet includes but is not limited to pole dancers, circus athletes, MMA fighters, bodybuilders, mothers, mothers-to-be, office workers, children and everything in-between.
